Report from our team that returned yesterday: Much ground traveled this trip. Visited all school sites, visited with directors and teachers. Construction well underway to replace destroyed structure at LaPye. Classes being held temporarily under tarps, and teachers helping with construction after classes. Great to see everyone pitching in. Sad sight to see hundreds of wet books. Gardens flourishing at Bwa Pin despite hurricane while other locations had heavy damage. Roof at Gran Lagon held fast. Sixteen leaders assembled at Nan Cafe for training (pictured). All in all much gratitude for the Lord's protection and provision and enthusiasm for the future. Thanks to all who have prayed and given.

Great 2 days on LaGonave assessing needs. As earlier reported, damage in 3 of 5 locations. LaPye, Gran Lagon, and Plenn Mapou. Most significant loss in LaPye where the previous structure is gone and a new foundation is already in its place. Many thanks to those who were so quick to respond in donating toward relief efforts. A significant portion of those funds were used for food needs for the 155 families mentioned in the first report. Estimated total funds needed for reconstruction is $15-$20k. ... See MoreSee Less
